NJABR Hosts 2009 Summer Biomedical Research Fellowship

In July, NJABR held its 4th Summer Biomedical Research Fellowship at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Over 10 days, 14 select high school seniors playing the role of an outbreak investigation team worked through a detailed case study, which included site visits at several local research facilities, hospitals, universities and emergency response centers. The concluding event was a presentation to a mock legislative investigative panel. 

The goal of the program was to raise awareness of the important interplay amongst biomedical research, public health and emergency response in the societal response to disease.
