Collaboration
NJABR continues to lead efforts to improve communication and foster collaboration with our partners from state and national advocacy organizations. NJABR dedicates time and energy to forge strong relationships with our colleagues in other states, as well as from the National Association for Biomedical Research, the Foundation for Biomedical Research, Americans for Medical Progress, the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, and States United for Biomedical Research to drive successful programming and to strengthen the community through collaboration and cooperation. We believe strongly that through collective advocacy, we can best promote and protect research.
- NJABR and colleagues from several state associations shared an educational booth at the AALAS National Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. We were able to share important information about biomedical research advocacy with members and non-members alike, as well extend NJABR’s reach to institutions in neighboring states;
- We shared NJABR’s advocacy successes and strategies with multiple branches affiliated with the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science and other partners in the animal research community;
- Together with our colleagues from States United for Biomedical Research, we helped to host a webinar focused on the need for increased transparency regarding research. Hundreds of individuals from across the country participated. Building on this success, a four-part webinar series will be presented by SUBR in 2019. The webinars will address security, teaching opportunities, emergency preparedness, and media outreach.
