In the last year, NJABR events brought together hundreds of biomedical research stakeholders to explore important aspects of laboratory animal research and to improve animal welfare. As always, our programming was well-received and offered innovative techniques. We remain on the forefront of animal welfare training and help institutions cut regulatory red tape while improving animal welfare.
- In 2017, NJABR offered over 30 AAVSB RACE-approved continuing education hours for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
- We upgraded our internationally-recognized 3Rs Webinar Series and offered five webinars that explore issues related to the improvement of animal welfare and related regulatory initiatives.
- We presented the 3Rs Sharing Conference VI in November 2017 with colleagues from other state and national organizations and continue to be an industry leader in promoting 3Rs initiatives.
- In September 2017, we held IACUC 24 at the Palace at Somerset Park. For the first time, we solicited presentations from member institutions. The effort was a huge success, as the evaluation surveys provided the highest scores in the years since the current scoring framework was introduced.
